Apprentice Installer – Santa Ana, CA – San Fernando Valley, CA – Orange County, CA
Position Summary
Sliding glass doors, interior and exterior pedestrian doors and any necessary parts or hardware to the customers home. These items will be picked up from any of the American Vision Windows, Inc. (hereafter AVW) warehouses, from local factories, supply house or from any necessary location.
Job Functions (Responsibilities, Duties, Accountabilities)
- Remove the existing windows, and assist with the installation of the new windows in accordance with AAMA and IWA standards
- Window installation will include the use of foam in the perimeter gaps, installation of interior and the exterior trims, caulking of the interior / exterior and the removal of the manufacturers stickers and glue
- Utilize cloth drop cloths on the floors and plastic drop cloths on the furniture
- Remove all debris from the job site
- When directed by supervisor, demonstrate the workings of the windows and locks
- If directed by supervisor, collect final and full payment
- If directed by supervisor, complete the AVW “green sheets” and billing paperwork completely and accurately at the end of each install
- Canvas the local area, street and area for leads
- All lead sheets will be turned in with the crew pack upon completion of the installation
- Position will be paid on an hourly basis
- Complete and fill out a time sheet on a daily basis, recording the beginning and ending of each work period. All information on the time sheet must be filled in, signed and dated
- Time in and time out for meal breaks (for a minimum of 30 minutes) are to be recorded on
the time sheet. This position requires you work six (6) days a week, if applicable. - Break Periods – (2) Two – ten (10) minute rest breaks can be taken anytime during the work period. Break times do not need to be recorded on the time sheets.
- Time sheets must be reviewed and initialed by your supervisor at the end of each day
- Any and all overtime is to be approved by your Crew Chief and /or Field Superintendents
- Completed time sheets need to be turned into the office every Thursday (turn in day may change based on holiday schedule)
- Comply with all safety practices
- Pursue and attend training (provided by AVW) classes for AAMA certification and become certified by AAMA within a (2) two year period

Relevant Experience:
Working knowledge and proficiency working with general construction hand and power tools, properly store & maintain, notify Crew Chief when damaged or broken
Competencies & Skills:
Minimum one (1) year experience in related field
Know how to setup & use ladder correctly, use box cutter correctly
